Scott Sullivan:
McCain must impeach Bush on Iraq

Senator McCain did the right thing when he condemned the hate mongering comments against Barack Obama by conservative talk show host John Cunningham. What McCain has yet to realize, however, is that he and his campaign are not dealing with a simple case of anti-Muslim bigotry.

The truth is far more serious. John Cunningham is Gordon Liddy. He represents the White House and President George Bush. His job is to incite US hatred of the Arabs so that Bush can complete his task of destroying the Arab world while elevating the Iranians and their Kurdish allies as the new masters of the Middle East.

To be even more specific, Bush is collaborating with Iran to partition Iraq, Turkey, and Syria. At this point the Arab world as a cohesive force in Middle East politics would cease to exist. Iran and its Kurdish allies would then dominate the Middle East.

President Bush’s new anti-Arab and pro-Iran policy has three major components. First, the new state of Kurdistan must be carved out of Iraq. Thanks to Bush’s support for Kurdistan, the Kurds have nearly achieved their goal. The Kurds have their own autonomous state and their own powerful military force, the peshmerga. The only remaining objective to achieve full independence from Iraq is Kurdish acquisition of the Iraqi city of Kirkuk and its oil, a step that is mandated by US policy to occur via a plebiscite in Kirkuk no later than June 2008.

Second, once Iraq is partitioned, the US wants to partition Turkey. The partition of Turkey would be an easy step from the partition of Iraq. The new state of Kurdistan would simply annex the southern one-third of Turkey, which is populated by ethnic Kurds who are largely hostile to the central government in Ankara.

Third, after Turkey is partitioned, the Kurds would confront Syria, which also has a substantial Kurdish population. President Bush has demonized, isolated and weakened Syria. In contrast, Bush is improving relations with Iran and has encouraged Iran to play a large role in Iraq alongside the US. Bush is going to policy extremes to appease and strengthen Iran, as shown by Bush’s approval of visit to Baghdad by Iran’s Nazi president Mahmoud Ahmadinmejad.

With Turkey’s demise due to Kurdish pressure, Syria would lose its only potential ally against Iran. As a result, following the decline of three powerful Arab states -- Iraq, Turkey and Syria -- Iran would emerge as the new regional superpower.

Fourth, as Bush quietly builds relations with Iran, he will demonize the Arab world in general and especially the Arab community in the US, beginning with Barack Hussein Obama. John Cunningham has fired the first shot in Bush’s war on the Arabs.

The question for Senator McCain is how far he will go with Bush’s reckless scheme. Would Senator McCain consider the impeachment of George Bush for the loss of Iraq to Iran as an option?
