Sarkozy on the move

US/French relations are growing warmer under Sarkozy, for we have
learned that France is very seriously considering participating more closely in NATO... this according to French Defense Minister Herve Morin. France presently
hasn't the influence in the military structure of NATO and it misses opportunities to hold command positions because of its sideline status according to Mr. Morin. He also has moved to criticised previous French opposition to NATO's continued evolution and expansion eastward. NATO officials said they have not as yet held formal talks with France over full NATO re-entry, but if we are to believe Morin's comments, that does indeed lie just ahead.
