Two weeks ago, in his talk
at CSIS Venezuelan Ambassador to the U.S. Bernardo Alvarez claimed
that a América Economía Latinobarometro's
poll had established that Venezuelans were very happy about
their democracy. This poll took place some time ago. The
most recent poll with a 3% margin of error in each country
shows a different perspective (see below). The Ambassador
was a bit selective at CSIS!:

poll took place with a total
dof 20.212 interviews in 18 countrie sin the region.
President
Lula Da Silva took forst place with 5,7 points in a scale of
0 to 10, where 0 is "very bad" and 10 "very good."
Second place when to, Michelle Bachelet
(5,5), following by colombian president
Alvaro Uribe
(5,2). In fourth place Ecuador's,
Rafael Correa (5,1) with e
mexican Felipe Calderón (5,1)
Bolivia's,
Evo Morales (5,0); Uruguay's, Tabaré Vásquez
(4,9), argentinian, Néstor Kirchner (4,8); Perú's,
Alan García (4,5).

poll was done between september
7 and October 9, witj a margin of error of 3% margen in each country.
