Chavez's celebration

ON THE POLITICAL FRONT we celebrate
this morning the victory on the part of the Venezuelan
people over the idiot socialist at the helm there, Gen.
Hugo Chavez. The people of Venezuela went to the
polls yesterday to vote on a referendum put forth by
Chavez that would have allowed him to remain in power
until "2050!" The referendum went down to defeat
51-49% percent, according to Tibisay Lucena, the head of
the National Electoral Council. Ms. Lucena made the
report when 88% of the votes had been officially counted,
saying that the trend was irreversible. Within moments of
Ms. Lucena' comments on national television, Gen.
Chavez appeared and conceded defeat. Those opposing
the referendum were swiftly seen in the streets of
Caracas chanting "Now He Is Gone." This is the first
major defeat of Gen. Chavez since he re-took power
several years ago and we applaud the people of
Venezuela for their courage.
