She is toast!

As we say here in the South, "Spit on the fire and call in the dogs, for this hunt is over" [Ed. Note: We actually use a much more descriptive word instead of "spit," but that won't get past the SPAM blockers these days, so we've used "spit"
in its stead.]. We are talking here about the Presidential aspirations of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. She is toast! We will, from some point in history, be able to look back
]and note that her Presidential hopes tipped over the edge when her husband took to the campaign trail and alienated black voters two and three weeks ago in a manner few of us had thought possible. William Jefferson Clinton lost this election for his wife, for her aspirations always demanded that she hold to the black voters during the primaries and then of course into the election itself in November, and Bill lost them in a series of unqualified mistakes made before a number of audiences.
The size of Barack Obama's victories yesterday in the Potomac Primaries was shocking: In Virginia, Obama won 64% of the votes cast; Ms. Clinton won 35%. In
Maryland, Obama won 60%; Ms. Clinton won 36%, and in the District of Columbia, Obama won 75% and Ms. Clinton won 24%. No one... and we mean NO ONE...
predicated a landslide of this proportion. Now, to be factual, Sen. Obama has won, to date, 1078 delegates to the Democratic Convention, and Sen. Clinton has won 969. They need 2025 to win the nomination. Given the proportional delegation splits in most of the Democratic primaries, unless Sen. Obama wins by more than 60%, he will not secure sufficient delegates to have the nomination secured without the benefit of a large number of "super delegates" that will tend to lean toward Sen. Clinton. Sen. Clinton is now pinning her hopes upon these "super delegates," and relish the thought of this wing of the Democratic Party going to the convention arguing that even though Obama " won" the elections and defeated Sen. Clinton at every turn, she deserves the nomination. We relish even more the legal wrangles that may lie ahead as her staff argues that the delegates from Florida and Georgia be seated and awarded to her even though those states surrendered the delegates when they chose to move their primaries ahead on the calendar. . The Clintonites will try to spin the news from the Potomac Primaries yesterday in some fashion to their advantage, but even they will not be able to do so. These results are un-spinnable. This defeat is over-whelming; Obama's victory is stunning in its finality. Stick a fork in Ms. Clinton's presidential hopes; they are done! Bill killed them! He left his stain once again.
