Condi for VP ?

As for the Republicans, there is growing sentiment for Sec'y of State Condi Rice as the VP nominee, and although we would much prefer seeing someone like Gov. Mark Sanford as the nominee, we have long been proponents of Sec'y Rice. Indeed, we had hoped at one time that she would run for the Presidency. Apparently, Sec'y Rice has been meeting with influential conservative Republicans, trying to secure their support for the nomination. She would be a wonderful choice in our opinion, and would do much to assuage the politically incorrect, but nonetheless still quite rational, "guilt-vote" that might accrue to Sen. Obama as the first black presidential nominee, while putting forth a candidate of the very first quality who has been properly vetted and offers little other than benefits to the McCain ticket.
