U.S. coup d'etat
?
GEN McChrystal, the top commander of US forces in Afghanistan, has mounted a virtual military coup d'etat with his relentless pressure to force President Obama to adopt McChrystal's surge strategy against the Taliban in Afghanistan. In an unprecedented challenge to President Obama, McChrystal has lined up high profile public support for his Afghan escalation strategy from US commmander at CENTCOM GEN Petraeus and from Admiral Mullen, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Presdent Obama must push back against this military rebellion. He can best do so by asking McChrystal, who served in Iraq, about the continuing threat of Kurdish and Iranian secession in Iraq, as reported in 10 Nov. new york times, "iraq's Minorities in north seen as threatened."
President Obama can then inform McChrystal that until he fixes these problems in Iraq, Obama will suspend urther consideration of McChrystal's Afghanistan options. And what should obama do about afghanistan? Embrace the Taliban, provided it agrees to become the khmer rouge!
