Yesterday, ahead of next month’s meeting, OPEC raised its forecast for global petroleum demand growth by 50,000 bpd from 700,000 to 750,000. Interestingly, at the same time that the cartel was raising its demand
estimates, it was saying that higher prices shall “dampen world demand in the coming year.” Confused? So too are we!
