Its seems that 7-Eleven is dropping Citgo as its gasoline supplier at more than 2,100 locations because CITGO is not longer a reliable supplier, remember Citgo's decision this summer to stop supplying stations in parts of Texas and other states to focus on retailers closer to its refineries in Corpus Christi, Lake Charles, La., and Lemont, Ill. The timing was another matter, there politics play a part, the chain is worried that Chavez anti-American comments last week in the U.N. might prompt motorists to fill-up elsewhere and took the advantage of then situation to drop the bomb of cutting CITGO from his business.
