TT's wishful thinking
Our friend the Trinidad & Tobago's Energy Minister, Conrad Enill , is just out of the game, when he said in a December's Energy Caribbean interview, that TT's was still hoping that Venezuela might be persuaded to send some of the natural gas from its Loran marine acreage in the Gulf of Paria to this country for commercialization in a LNG train. Well, I'm sorry to report that evenif it does makes a lot of sense from the economic point of view, the fact is Venezuela's is not going to do that, PDVSA is already working with the partner sin the development of the 3 trains in SIGMA LNG plant, located in Guiria, right across from Port Spain, and train one ( PDVSA, GALP, Chevron) will be feed by the gas form Loran (venezuelan side / Chevron - PDVSA) / Manatee field (Trinidad side / Chevron), there is not chance now to change that decision. The work in the LNG plant is already under way with German LINDE technology, completely diferent form the LNG Atlantic technology. The Linde technology is use by Statoil in Snøhvit LNG plant on the the Barents Sea, Statoil as a Venezuelan license in Deltana block 4, but is still in negotiations to extends its exploration work.
