& Venezuela deal ready
Venezuela is waiting for Trinidad to sign the oil & gas exploitation
cross border agreement, a PDVSA top executive told Petroleumworld
this week. The executive said that Venezuela is just waiting to
get the deal done. All the technical studies are now finalize
and every detail of hydrocarbons reserves on both sides have been
calculated and study very carefully. So, it seems thatTrinidad
is just arranging the formalities for the signature. The estimations
are that Loran/Manatee has over five tcf with the distribution
being 73 per cent on the Venezuela side and 27 per cent on the
Trinidad side and for the Kapok/Dorado field 3.5 of the five tcf
of gas is estimated with 70 per cent on the T&T side. Due
to the particularity of the reserves, venezuela is proposing for
each country to develop one field and compensate later.Not a bad
idea, it can save a whole operation with platform and al..
