We received last Friday
the following report:
Dear Friend,
We are pleased to send you our presentation summarizing our latest report, titled Venezuela Oil Sector Performance: 1984 to 2012 and Scenario 2020
pdf/Venezuela_Oi_Sector_Performance_and_Scenario_2020.pdf
This report has been put together by our team of oil market analysts and experts, using data from the International Energy Agency, the US Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration, PDVSA and the Central Bank of Venezuela. Among other findings, the report notes that:
- PDVSA's oil production is at its lowest level in 20 years. - The domestic oil product market is much larger than previously and officially estimated. - The export surplus is at its lowest level in 25 years. - The United States is no longer the largest destination for Venezuela's oil exports. - The yearly losses in revenue due to subsidized and costly exports to non-US markets amount to around US$10 billion a year, for a total of around US$100 billion in lost revenue over the past decade.
The Scenario 2020 analysis provides insights into how to recover Venezuela's production. The main finding in this section of the report is the need for around US$14 billion per year from 2012 to 2020 in order to allow for production to increase at a rate of 135,000 b/d per year.
We are certain you will find the report interesting and useful. Feel free to share it with friends and colleagues.
Best regards,
The Subaeshi Team
