Hillary's e-mails

What has been made public thus far is egregiously damaging and
would have ended any other candidate's chances for success.

Regarding the Presidential elections here in the US in a week and one half, each new day sees the release of literally tens of thousands of new e-mails from those surrounding the Clinton campaign and they are damaging. The question is ‘How damaging” and the answer is that they would be materially… perhaps even “fatally”… damaging if these leaks had taken place a month or so ago and the press had had the time to fully absorb them and understand their significance. Clearly, there was a very real “Pay to play” culture that had taken over the Clinton family, with former President Clinton having been paid several tens of millions of dollars in consulting and speaking fees by countries and companies dealing with the then Sec'y of State and the presumed Democrat Party presidential nominee.

We can be certain that there will be tens of thousands more “leaks” from WikiLeaks in the coming days and weeks but whether they shall be curated sufficiently and made to be fully understood by the voting public before the election is highly unlikely. Nonetheless, what has been made public thus far is egregiously damaging and would have ended any other candidate's chances for success. The Clinton campaign staff is on full alert to refute and deny anything being released however and they are experts at this sort of thing.

To this end, a FOX News poll… and we do indeed take polls by FOX with a grain of salt, just as we do polls taken by the NY Times et al… has Mr. Trump narrowing Ms. Clinton's lead with women voters from a 20% deficit to one that is only now 10% and is narrowing her lead nationally. We are not certain that we can believe that poll but any shift in his favor at this point shall be material.

If all of this is correct, we shall move our expectation of the race from one where a Trump victory was an utter impossibility to one that has a slight… a very slight… chance of success. He will still lose this election but by a somewhat lesser margin, and perhaps sufficient lesser to keep the Senate from turning Democrat. Fingers are now crossed.
