Dear editor, I would like to make a brief comment on Scott Sullivan's article
( Turkey
Need US Assurances on Kurds).
As a result of decades of oppression, denial, and massacres, the position
of the Kurdish writers is justified and understandable, however, Mr. Scott
Sullivan’s
daily writings in the Conservative Voice as well as other sites is neither
excused nor rational unless he has ulterior motives that are very known in
this business.
The logic behind the above mentioned statement is the fact that ordinary and
intellectual people normally sympathize and side with the oppressed in any
given conflict. Thank God destitute Kurdish people have many of those, nevertheless
Mr. Sullivan has went against logic and sided with Turkish government praising
her for the suppression and deprivation she inflicting upon the Kurds and has
intervened before and is threatening to do it again and refuse to recognize
more than 20million Kurds inside her borders.
Mr. Sullivan has basically been attacking Kurds and making up stories based
only on his wild imagination while praising Turkey as if she is the greatest
God given democracy on earth.
My simple message to Mr. Sullivan, and I like every Kurd and their friend to
respond to his fabrications on daily basis as he is doing, that KRG realizes
the importance of Turkish state and is extending the hand of friendship and
cooperation based on mutual interests, respect and non-interference. Kurds
have fought, sacrificed for over 80 years for the rights they have gained today
and you want to erase them just like that. Kurds also are and will remain one
of the staunchest US allies on the ground inside Iraq and in the region and
I am sure eventually there will US bases in Iraqi Kurdistan. Remember, it is
rare that you encounter a region where people and leadership as well share
same vision towards US nowadays especially in Middle East, But Iraqi Kurdistan
is that place.
