Subject: Re: Oil Spill

Dear Editor, So, let's say you live in Florida. You have no family anywhere else in the US (they're all here).  You just got back to work after a year of looking for a job (the construction industry went south here).  You used up most of your savings making it through that year and you're just beginning to get caught up.  You've got a modest mortgage and a family with college age daughters. You're worried about the potential of the spill, you don't like the looks of it. What do you do ?  You've never even seen snow (and to get out of this mess, you'd have to move west and north). You couldn't keep up the house payments and pay for something somewhere else, so you would have to default.  Couldn't afford to move everything. You'd be doing good to buy food if it takes another year to find a job.  You don't like the thoughts of living elsewhere, you're a Florida native and you like green and sunshine and water.    On the other hand, not sure if the air you're breathing today is safe and if the thunderstorm that rolls in from the Gulf almost every afternoon is toxic.  You don't like to be the tail, prefer to be the head in these things... You're getting all kinds of info about this. Nobody here is worried. What would you do ?  Risk everything and leave, or risk everything and stay ?
