Ecuador's oil force majeure to be lifted

A top official of Ecuador's oil company, Petroecuador, told Dow
Jones Newswires on Thursday that the company is getting ready
to lift its declaration of force majeure on oil exports by Thursday,
Dow Jones reported.
"We
are getting prepared to inform the (oil) companies... the situation
now is normal, and we don't believe there will be any problems,"
a senior Petroecuador official,said early Thursday.
The
company declared a force majeure Tuesday after protesters seized
a pumping station on the 360,000 barrels per day SOTE pipeline.
Force
majeure is a contractual clause invoked to protect one of the
parties when extraordinary circumstances prevent the fulfillment
of a commitmen
