Brazilian oil company Petrobras is continuing talks with Bolivia's Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos-YPFB, to become a major partner in the future expansion plans of Bolivia's hidrocarbon sector, despite Bolivian president Evo Morales plans to nationalise the country's hidrocarbonsindustry, a source told Petroleumworld.

A working group has been set up by Petrobras and YPFB to coordinate the possible areas of interest. Petrobras will partnership with YPFB in refining, oil exploration and production, biofuel and natural gas, among other areas.

There have not been yet an official statement from Petrobras on Morales' plan to nationalize the industry by July 12.

Petrobras controls 46 pct of Bolivia's gas reserves, 75 pct of gas exports to Brazil and 95 pct of refinery capacity. Bolivia supplies 50 pct of Brazilian gas needs.
