Chile exported $398.5 million worth of refined oil products and bunker
fuel during the first three months of 2006, up 56% from the first quarter
of
last year, industrial association SOFOFA said Wednesday.
The increase reflected
a 48% increase in price and a 6% increase in
volumes, the association said.
SOFOFA said the
increase in volumes reflected a rise in shipments to Peru
and the US. Chile's state oil company ENAP exports refined products
to Peru,
where it owns a stake in the country's largest fuels distributor, and
to
Central America, under agreements with ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell.
