The US Energy Information Administration on Thursday reported a net
79-Bcf storage injection for the week ending June 16, raising nationwide
inventories to 2.476 Tcf.

The injection ran relatively in line with consensus expectations that had
called for a build between 75 Bcf and 80 Bcf.

EIA reported 2.025 Tcf of working gas in inventory in the same week a
year ago. As a result, the surplus over the year-ago level held steady to the
week before at 451 Bcf, while the surplus over the five-year average of 1.833
Tcf fell to 643 Bcf from 659 Bcf.

EIA posted a net injection last week of 49 Bcf in the East region,
bringing storage to 1.317 Tcf (1.023 Bcf a year ago), an injection of 13 Bcf
in the West region, to 347 Bcf (313 Bcf a year ago) and an injection of 17 Bcf
in the producing region, to 812 Bcf (688 Bcf a year ago).

In the East, inventories are now 360 Bcf above the five-year average,
while stocks are 71 Bcf above the average in the West and 211 Bcf above in the
producing region.
