Ecuador's oil export revenues when up in May 58%, an increase from the
$1.87 billion registered in the same period of 2005. May exports totaled
$2.95 billion between January and May, the central bank said Tuesday.
Ecuador exported 59 million barrels (mb) in the first five months of
2006, up 9% from the 54 mb shipped one year early.
The average price of crude in the five months increased 43% to $49.89
per barrel from $34.84 a barrel reported in 2005 period, according to
the central bank.
The
official data show, thay of the total exported by the country between
January and May, 32.02 mb, or 54%, were sold by private companies operating
in Ecuador. The remaining 26.98 mb or 46% was exported by state-run
Petroecuador.
