Nigeria oil unions suspend strike

Nigeria's two oil unions said Thursday that they were suspending a strike a day after it was launched.

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) had initially called a three-day strike from Wednesday to protest unrest in the volatile Niger Delta region, home to the country's massive oil wealth.
