US crude stocks to build 1.8 million barrels: analysts

US oil inventory data due to be released Thursday by the US Energy
Information Administration and American Petroleum Institute are expected to
show a 1.8 million barrel build in commercial crude stocks, analysts surveyed
by Platts said Tuesday.

"While lower domestic output will dig into product inventories, continued
builds in crude will likely keep the pressure on producer countries to try and
support the market through talk of imminent production cuts soon to be agreed
upon by OPEC ministers," Antoine Hallf, energy analyst at FIMAT, said in a
report.

Refinery utilization is expected to decline 0.9% after falling 2.5%, the
previous week to 89.9%, according to EIA data. The additional decline in
refinery run rates is expected as turnaround season deepens.
