Argentina's Mendoza draws 18 oil & gas bids on 4 areas

Argentina's Mendoza province on Tuesday received 18 oil and gas bids from 13 companies on the four areas in the Mendoza province, said Mendoza's Gov. Julio Cobos, according to newsreports..

The Chachahuen block drew the most interest of the four areas, with nine offers from individual companies and consortia including Repsol YPF , Petrobras , Wintershall , Petroandina and Pluspetrol, an adviser in the ministry's hydrocarbons office said.

The Rio Atuel area drew five offers from bidders including Petrobras and Repsol, while the Tordillos Oeste area drew three, including Repsol, and the Nacunan area drew only one bidder.

The provincial government aims to award the contracts by year's end, the ministry adviser said.
