Norwegian

Oil production on the Norwegian continental shelf averaged 2.250 million
barrels per day (bpd) in October, up from a revised 2.221 million in
September, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on Thursday.
The country also produced 511,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day
(boe/d) of natural gas liquids and condensate, the directorate said
in its preliminary figures for October.
Norway is the world's third-biggest oil exporter after Saudi Arabia
and Russia.
Meanwhile, definitive figures for September show production was approximately
2.221 million bpd of oil, 235,000 boe/d of natural gas liquids and about
117,000 boe/d of condensate.
Low production figures in October were due to a planned maintenance
shutdown on the Tordis field, as well as a number of unplanned shutdowns
on several fields.
The estimate included a production shortfall from the Snorre, Vigdis,
Heidrun and Draugen fields of about 3.2 million barrels of oil, the
directorate said.
Production at those fields was interrupted last month when the Petroleum
Safety Authority (PSA) ordered the platforms to shut down briefly due
to safety concerns after faults were found on lifeboats on the platforms.
Final production figures will be published at the beginning of December
2006, the directorate said.
