The nine South Koreans and one Nigerian taken hostage by armed men in
southern Nigeria were released late Friday afternoon, a government spokesman
for the southern state of Bayelsa told AFP.
"They released all 10 of the hostages. All are in good health.
No ransom was paid", the spokesman, Welson Ekiyor said.
He added the men are in Warri, in neighbouring Delta state, and currently
the nearest town with a functioning airport.
"Company officials are there to collect them", he said.
The men are employed by Daewoo and were subcontracted to build a pipeline
for Anglo-Dutch oil giant Shell.
They were taken hostage early on Wednesday morning by an armed group
that so far remains unidentified.
