Gazprom to advise PDVSA Gas

PDVSA Gas president Félix Rodríguez said that Russian and Venezuelan and Russia oil firms Gazprom and PDVSA entered into an agreement of engineering technical support and assistance in gas management, distribution and transportation.

"The parties studied priority issues regarding cooperation in the gas industry and branded as positive the activities of Gazprom at the Venezuelan continental shelf," said the Russian gas holding, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.

The Russian delegation was headed by Stanislav Tsigankov, head of the International Department of Gazprom Stanislav Tsigankov, according to RIA Novosti.

PDVSA and Gazprom are also initialing an agreement to create software for simulation of gas transmission and distribution, as well as technical assistance to construct international gas pipelines, for application in the Great Southern Gas Pipeline and the Trans-Caribbean Gas Pipeline -which has been completed in 35 percent.
