Cerro Negro -a heavy-oil enhancer operated by US Exxon Mobil, British BP and state-run oil holding Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa)- is discussing with the Venezuelan government the transfer to joint partnership with the State as the major stockholder, Reuters reported.

"Mobil Cerro Negro confirms ongoing talks with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum on the migration to a joint partnership and reiterates its willingness to solve the issue in an amicable manner," said the firm in a press release on the nationalization announced by President Hugo Chávez.

Recently, Minister of Energy and Petroleum Rafael Ramírez said that the government would not make any more deals with multinationals operating heavy-oil enhancers in Orinoco oil belt.
