Supplies of natural gas to south and central Chile from neighboring
Argentina are likely to remain limited until the end of the week despite
the
competition of repairs to the Aguada San Roque deposit in Neuquen,
Chile?s
national energy commission (CNE) said.
"The injection of gas for export from the Neuquen basin remains
restricted, awaiting the normalization of operating conditions in
the
Argentinean system," the CNE said, adding that supplies would
remained limited
over the next two days.
This would affect a number of distributors and power companies which
receive gas through the GasAndes and GasPacifico pipelines.
Insufficient investment in production and growing demand for energy
in
Argentina has left Chile subject to frequent cuts in its gas supplies.
