US energy reserves mixed

AFP

WASHINGTON
Petroleumworld.com 03 15 07

US reserves of crude oil rose last week but refined products dipped, the Department of Energy said Wednesday.

Crude inventories rose by 1.1 million barrels to 325.3 million in the week to March 9, it said. That was less than the rise of two million expected by analysts.

The DoE's weekly report showed that gasoline reserves slipped by 2.5 million barrels to 213.9 million, just over the forecast decline of 2.38 million.

Distillate inventories, which include heating oil and diesel, fell by 2.8 million barrels to 120.4 million, a little more than predicted.

New York crude futures rose 22 cents to 58.15 dollars a barrel after the government report.
