"Still willing to participate in Mariscal Sucre project"

Brazilian
oil company Petrobras is still interested in participating
in PDVSA's Mariscal Sucre natural gas
project, Marco Aurelio
Garcia, international affairs adviser for President Luiz Inacio
Lula da Silva said Monday.
"
Of course (we are willing to participate). There has been some slight
delay in the talks but not because of Petrobras,"
Garcia, told reporters in the side lines of the South America
energy summit in Margarita Island.
PDVSA is still talks with Petrobras hammering out the project
development agreement.
Venezuela's oil company turned to Petrobras
for its the experience on offshore deep drilling.
The talks started in 2005, when Venezuela did not agree with Shell
and Mitsubishi in the stake of each company in project
Garcia said that both parties
continue to look into the project.
"
There is no interruption in the relations between Petrobras and PDVSA," he
said. "On the contrary, we've deepened our relations."
PDVSA wants to use the natural gas reserves in Mariscal Sucre to
supply the planned 8.000 Km gas pipeline that will take the gas
to Brazil and Argentina.
