sells fuel business in Uruguay

Chevron Corp. (CVX.N: Quote, Profile,
Research) agreed on Wednesday to sell its fuel marketing business
in Uruguay to the state-owned petroleum marketing and distribution
company D.U.C.S.A. as the U.S. company focuses its downstream
operations on its more competitive regions.
Chevron said D.U.C.S.A. will add 90 Texaco-branded service station
to its retail network in Uruguay. The stations are expected to be
rebranded to D.U.C.S.A.'s ANCAP brand.
The company did not disclose the terms of the sale. It said Texaco-branded
lubricants products will continue to be distributed and marketed
in Uruguay through D.U.C.S.A.
