Argentine President Nestor Kirchner
will visit Bolivia on August 3 to preside over, along with his local
counterpart, Evo Morales, the tender of a plant to separate liquefied
gas from oil, the Hydrocarbons Ministry said on Sunday.
According
to the press release, Bolivia exports natural gas with all its
components, because it does not have a plant to separate
the liquid elements.
The contracted volume is 4.6 million cubic meters a day until 2008,
but that amount will increase to 7.7 million by January 1, 2009.
By then, Bolivia is expected to export dry gas, and all liquid components
will remain in the country, especially to produce liquefied gas from
oil, the document said.
Hydrocarbons Minister Carlos Villegas pointed out the presence of
Kirchner and Morales at the ceremony on August 3 in Tarija, southern
Bolivia, will be a landmark in the industrialization of the hydrocarbon
sector.
The plant will be the largest in South America, as it will separate
30 million cubic meters of liquefied gas from oil a day.
