Petroleos Mexicanos, Mexico's state- run
oil monopoly, said it has fully restored service to companies and
households in central Mexico after fuel pipelines were damaged by
bombings this month.
Pemex, as the Mexico City-based company is known, installed seven
temporary lines along four natural gas, oil, propane and refined
fuel pipelines that were damaged by the attacks July 5 and 10, according
to a company e-mail today.
A guerilla group that calls itself the Popular Revolutionary Army
claimed responsibility for the pipeline blasts. The explosions caused
more than 100 companies to reduce or suspend production for lack
of gas. The company had started restoring supply to the Bajio region
on July 12.
Pemex said in the e-mail it will accelerate efforts to repair the
pipelines. The company didn't provide information on when the work
may be completed.
