Bolivia readies to realign and restore Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica s capacity to generate electricity and develop different regions.

Minister of Services Jerjes Mecado said the program will boost projects in the sector that were postponed for several decades.

It includes a $28.5 million direct investment to connect Caranavi (La Paz) and Trinidad (north).

There is also a $40 million topographic study on the line that connects Tarija Department -in the south- to the national power grid and modernize Misicuni electricity company in Cochabamba.

ENDE director Hugo Villarroel said the company is drafting its security regulations, action that will help attract funds to develop its hydroelectric system.

Villaroel adds that the policy will also help to expand the National Development program boosted by President Evo Morales.
