Rodriguez, president of PDVSA Gas, told the participants
of the II
Global Year Summit of Infrastructure of Natural Liquefied
Gas, recently held on Mexico, that with
an estimated investment of 3 thousand 700 million dollars,
PDVSA foresees to finish the plant of natural liquefied
gas, SIGMA complex
located in Güiria, Sucre State, by the end of
2013, indicates a press release
of the Venezuela's Ministry Energy.
Rodriguez
said that the infrastructure works present 36% of progress,
which will allow to the national oil industry to achieve
the devised goals.
Likewise, he reported that the infrastructure will be
able for the receipt, treatment, liquefaction, storage
and shipping of 700 million cubic feet of natural gas,
which means a production of 4.7 million metric tons of
liquefied natural gas per year.
Venezuela has proven reserves that reach 180 trillion
cubic feet of gas and expectations of 166 trillion cubic
feet (50% out of it is offshore gas). Our country has 2.4
of the world reserves, 59% of Center and South America
and 29.3% of America, he confirmed.
Therefore, he presented the business portfolio that PDVSA
develops in matter of gas, specifically the projects lined
on the Delta Caribbean West Plan.
In this way, he said that this plan includes projects
like Mariscal Sucre, Deltan Platform, Cigma and the big
gas pipelines engineering which will allow to connect Venezuela
to the countries of the South, through the Transoceanic
Transandean gas pipelines, as well as the Big Gas Pipeline
of the South.
