Petróleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) has begun operations at P-54 in Roncador field, Campos basin, 125 km (78 mi) offshore Brazil. P-54 joins the P-52 in Roncador which started flowing in November. Petrobras also has signed an agreement for hull construction on P-55, also destined for Roncador.

P-54 is an FPSO with the capacity to compress 6 MMcm/d (212 MMcf/d) of gas and storage of 2 MMbbl of oil in 1,400 m (4,593 ft) of water and will connect to 11 production and six injection wells. Peak flow is expected in the second half of 2008. Oil will be shipped while the gas goes into a pipeline.

P-55, contracted to Atlântico Sul Shipyard in Suape, is scheduled for assembly and piping at the Rio Grande do Sul drydock. P-55 will have a capacity of 180,000 b/d of oil and the cost is pegged at $392.6 million.
