Brasileiro (Petrobras) has begun operations at P-54 in
Roncador field,
Campos basin, 125 km (78 mi) offshore Brazil. P-54 joins
the P-52 in Roncador which started flowing in November.
Petrobras also has signed an agreement for hull construction
on P-55, also destined for Roncador.
P-54 is an FPSO with the capacity to compress 6 MMcm/d
(212 MMcf/d) of gas and storage of 2 MMbbl of oil in 1,400
m (4,593 ft) of water and will connect to 11 production
and six injection wells. Peak flow is expected in the second
half of 2008. Oil will be shipped while the gas goes into
a pipeline.
P-55,
contracted to Atlântico Sul
Shipyard in Suape, is scheduled for assembly and piping
at the Rio Grande
do Sul drydock. P-55 will have a capacity of 180,000 b/d
of oil and the cost is pegged at $392.6 million.
