Mexico's
three main oil export ports reopen after stormy seas forced
closure

Mexico's three main oil export ports
were open again Monday after stormy seas forced their
closure last week just as oil prices topped $100 a barrel.
The Gulf of Mexico ports of Pajaritos, Dos Bocas and Cayo
Arcas reopened late last week, the Mexican Transportation
Department said. The three Gulf ports handle most of the
1.7 million barrels of crude exported daily by state-owned
oil monopoly Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex.
The Pacific Salinas Cruz port, which exports only a small
amount of oil, was reopened over the weekend. All four
ports had been closed because of bad weather, but Pemex
said oil production wasn't affected.
