PETROBRAS announces changes in the Executive Board

RIO DE JANEIRO
Petroleumworld.com, Mar 06, 2008

The Board of Directors has appointed Jorge Luiz Zelada the International area’s Director. Zelada, who will replace Nestor Cuñat Cerveró, is an electronic engineer who has been working for Petrobras since January 1980, when he was hired as an instrumentation engineer for the Executive Group for Campos Basin Development (Gecan), performing in the projects undertaken for the first platforms to be deployed in that Basin.

His latest position at the company, which he has held since February 2003, was as the General Manager for Exploration and Production and Maritime Transportation Projects for the Engineering Area, the sector that is in charge of building production platforms. He also held other management positions in the engineering and drilling areas.

During a meeting held today (03/03), Petrobras Distribuidora’s Board of Directors appointed Nestor Cuñat Cerveró to the Financial Board, and Andurte de Barros Duarte Filho to the subsidiary’s Consumer Market Board.

Cerveró says farewell to the International Area

Petrobras’ International Area’s director, Nestor Cerveró, left the position he had held since 2003 today. Cerveró was named and appointed by Petrobras’ Board of Directors back in José Eduardo Dutra’s administration and remained through the current administration, headed by José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo.

Petrobras Distribuidora’s Board of Directors appointed Nestor Cerveró the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

During the five years in which Cerveró led the International Area, Petrobras enhanced its business and installed offices in nearly 30 countries. In January 2003, the company had operations in 9 countries, but it is currently present in 27, in all continents.

In his farewell speech, Cerveró made a point of thanking President Lula, minister Dilma Roussef, and Petrobras’ president, José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, for their trust in him. He also thanked his board colleagues for their companionship and, especially, the international area’s team members for their contributions and efforts.
