The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías, said that he will sign an agreement to build a refinery in China and another one in Venezuela, as well as tank ships, in the framework of the pluripolar world both countries are working for.
Regarding the still growing bilateral relations, he reminded that a decade ago commercial links between China and Venezuela were almost nonexistent, while this year will be over 8 billion dollars.
“I am very happy to be here,” said Chávez after his arrival in China, emphasizing that this country has emerged as a great power country without invading others.
Furthermore, Venezuela's President confirmed that next November 1st the satellite Simón Bolívar, which is being built with Chinese technology, will be launched.
“We have broken the technological blockade imposed by United States,” he said.
Some of the agreements that will be signed during Chávez's visit to China have been drafted after decisions made during the VII Top Level Mixed Commission China-Venezuela, which will finish this Wednesday.
“This visit will strengthen even more everything we have already accomplished,” Chávez added after thanking China for the support to Venezuela's socioeconomic development.
Venezuelan Head of State is in China as part of an international tour that began in Cuba. After China, he will set off to Russia, then France and Portugal.
During his stay in China, it is expected that Chávez will hold meetings with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao, the President of the Permanent Committee of the People's Assembly, Wu Bangguo, and the Vice-prime Minister, Li Keqiang.
President Chávez will also meet with businesspeople of big companies linked to socioeconomic projects in Venezuela.
Before this visit, Chávez informed that there is a possibility of reactivating a common fund of 6 billion dollars to carry out socioeconomic development projects in Venezuela.
