BUENOS AIRES
Petroleumworld.com, Mar 12, 2010

Repsol YPF SA and Morgan Stanley’s commodities unit are among six companies bidding to supply liquefied natural gas to Argentina from May to September.

Gas Natural SDG SA, Cheniere Energy Inc., Excelerate Energy LLC and Marubeni Corp also placed bids, state energy company Energia Argentina SA, or Enarsa, said today in an e-mailed reply to questions. The bidding round closed on March 9.

The liquefied natural gas will be processed on a re- gasification vessel off the southern coast of Buenos Aires province.

The winning bidders will deliver as many as five shipments, each equal to 3 million MMBTUs, or million British Thermal Units, Enarsa said. The government accepted bids for a total of 12 shipments and will close an auction for two more tomorrow, Enarsa said.
