The chief of Brazil's oil regulator ANP said he expects the government to sell 20 to 30 percent of the oil exploration blocks in Wednesday's 14th round oil auction, raising at least 500 million reais ($157.93 million) through signing bonuses.

Speaking at an event in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, ANP Director-General Decio Oddone also said he expects big interest from auction participants in basins such as Campos, Santos, Espirito Santo and Sergipe Alagoas. The country will auction 287 blocks in total in the upcoming round.

$1 = 3.1660 reais
