Braskem third-quarter profit falls less than expected

Brazil's Braskem SA, Latin America's largest petrochemical company, reported a 7 percent fall in third-quarter net income to 764 million reais ($235 million), a securities filing showed on Thursday.
Profit beat a Thomson Reuters consensus of 703 million reais among analysts. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell 9 percent when adjusted for non-recurring items to 2.746 billion reais, below an average forecast of 2.853 billion.
