Guyana police seize Venezuelan private aircraft with suspected false registration, in 2009 plane was register to Venezuelan Air Force
Authorities in Guyana are investigating the arrival of a suspicious private charter aircraft that landed at the Cheddie Jagan International Airport, Timehri, just after 3pm yesterday.

Six Venezuelans and a Guyanese pilot were Tuesday taken into custody in connection with an aircraft that Guyanese authorities believed has fake registration marking, reported Demeraraweaves news in Georgetown.
The two Venezuelan pilots and four passengers, two of whom are lawyers, arrived aboard the Beechcraft 200C Super King Air bearing registration YV-2493.
The Guyana Police Force said they believed that registration markings on the aircraft may be a false one as another aircraft is reportedly carrying the same registration number and further that the Data Plate, which contains vital information about the aircraft, is missing. according to Demeraraweaves report.
According to online records an Beechcraft 200C Super King Air - YV 2493 was register in 2009 to the Venezuelan Air Force.
Director-General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority Retired Lt.Col. Egbert Field told Demerara Waves Online News that steps were being taken to verify whether or not the registration was bogus.
