EOG Resources is expected to have an active work programme in T&T in 2022, with major developments in their Soldado, Osprey and Mento projects, and a high level team also is expected to visit this country next year.

EOG Resources top executives brought Minister Stuart Young MP up to speed on these and other of the company’s plans for the T&T energy sector, during a meeting at EOG Head Office in Houston, Texas, on Monday 6th December 2021.

Minister Young currently is in Houston, attending the World Petroleum Conference and Exhibition.

A news release from the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries reports that during the meeting this week, EOG executives shared a comprehensive three-year work plan with respect to three of their highly anticipated projects—Osprey, Mento, and Soldado—and possible joint venture arrangements.

The energy minister also was given crucial updates regarding the Soldado field, which will be the first well to be drilled by EOG on the west coast.  The EOG team also gave an update on its Rig Work programme for Soldado, which is scheduled to begin in February 2022.

Minister Young also got details on the Mento Project including the preparation of detailed engineering works and bid packages.

With respect to the Osprey programme, EOG indicated it is scheduled to commence in August 2022.  The company said it is now in the process of contracting the Noble Regina Rig for this project, which will bring on additional gas for Trinidad and Tobago.

Senior EOG executives are due to visit Trinidad and Tobago on March 22nd 2022, where further updates on Osprey, Mento and Soldado will be provided.

Minister Young met with EOG Resources senior executives Billy Helms, President and Chief Operating Officer; Ezra Yacob, Chief Executive Officer; Michael Donaldson, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary; Pat Woods, Vice President and General Manager – International; and George Viera, Managing Director, who joined the meeting virtually.
