The American Family Association a U.S. non profit group who represents and stands for traditional family values is promoting a boycot to CITGO gas and service stations in the U.S., in protest againts Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez who has vowed to bring down the U.S. government, according to the announcement on its web site. (http://www.afa.net/) .

On Sunday, Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century." said the announcent.

According to the AFA, The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company.

CITGO is a refiner and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, refined waxes, asphalt and other industrial products and trough its chain of 13,500 branded retail outlets in 47 states it sells more than 7 billion gallons of high quality CITGO branded gasolines every year.

In addition the sale of the products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government, said the AFL statement.

Recently, Chavez in order to created good will towards its goverment has instructed CITGO, to distribute five million gallons of heating oil and will mark down the cost by 40 percent. The discount is aimed at helping poor families that have exhausted their grants from the federal-state Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). So far, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York City are buying oil at a 40 percent discount from Citgo.

The Boston Globe on Monday carry an article headline "Venezuelan oil marks Chavez's latest bid to win over U.S." where it said that, Inside the United States, analysts suggest his oil diplomacy -- benefiting more than 100,000 households -- aims to embarrass President George W. Bush. Chavez has relentlessly taunted Bush, calling him a "madman" while encouraging Latin American countries to unite in opposition to U.S.-backed policies.

However, not all politicians are in favor of asking Chavez to give them cheap oil, - New Hampshire is looking into getting cheaper oil from socialist Venezuela, a move Sen. John Sununu calls a disgrace. New Hampshire, Gov. John Lynch’s office is reaching out to Venezuela, to buy oil at a 40 percent discount from Citgo.

But, Sununu said New Hampshire should stay away from his oil.

"Hugo Chavez has used the recent spike in heating oil costs as an opportunity to grandstand on the world stage," Sununu said. "He is selling Venezuela’s assets at cut-rate prices while his country languishes in poverty and essential infrastructure crumbles. This is a disgrace, and New Hampshire should take no part in such a tragic and misguided charade", reported Monday, the Portsmouth Herald.

Venezuela government is sole owner of Citgo gasoline company

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."

Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

Take Action

Send an email to Chavez and to Citgo that you will not be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?

Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family and urge them not to shop with Citgo. Most of them don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuela government.
