A
new chief executive office and three new board members have
joined the ranks of the National Petroleum Marketing Company
(NP).
Richard
Callender, who served as an NP board member from 1991 to 1995,
will be taking over from Gerard Acosta who will be retiring
in May.
The
new board members are Catherine Gordon, Rohan Roopnarine and
Marleen Lord-Lewis. They were introduced by chairman Lawford
Dupres to members of the media at an appreciation function at
the Zen night club last week Tuesday.
Callender
has been employed in the petroleum industry for over 30 years
and over the last three years has served as CEO in a service
company in the industry. He holds a bachelor of science degree
from UWI and an executive master’s in business administration.
Catherine
Gordon has been in the human resource management field for the
past 17 years. At present, she practices corporate etiquette
and protocol consulting through her own company. She is on the
board of Venture Credit Union and is the PRO for the Couva/Point
Lisas Chamber of Commerce.
Rohan
Roopnarine has been involved in the petroleum industry for the
past 20 years. He is the present president of the Greater Tunapuna
Chamber of Industry and is a former president of the Petroleum
Dealers’ Association. He holds an MBA degree.
Marleen
Lord-Lewis is a chemical engineer and the director of commercial
and business development at the Government-commissioned Natural
Gas Export Taskforce. She also holds a master of science degree
in production engineering and management.
She
served in various capacities at Petrotrin in the early 1990s
and has the lead role in developing the Government’s expressed
interest in investment in downstream of the LNG value chain
into shipping, regasification and gas making.
