NP
has promised to deal with the concerns of LPG distributors over
the next few weeks, Kerry Maraj, spokesman for the distributors
said yesterday.
The
distributors held a protest at NP’s headquarters, Sea
Lots yesterday over several concerns, including shortage of
LPG and the condition of the 20 lb cylinders.
Maraj
said over the past week there was either no LPG or nobody at
the plant to offload.
Maraj
said the group met with a team from NP led by outgoing CEO Gerard
Acosta and designate Richard Callender. NP promised that two
new tanker wagons would be added in about three months’
time to its fleet to ensure supply at Sea Lots.
The
company will also be getting new 20lb cylinders in about three
weeks time.
“We
felt comfortable with the assurances we got,” Maraj said.
“Things seem to be looking up.”
It
is not the first time that the distributors have protested.
Last April they came out when a breakdown at the plant meant
they had to wait two-three days for LPG.
