The
National Gas Company (NGC) yesterday formally launched its third
energy map aimed at secondary school students in the Caribbean,
at the Hilton hotel.
This
new map was published by the London-based publishing company
Petroleum Economists Ltd in French, Spanish and English with
the goal of providing a handy and attractive source of information
about all aspects of the oil and gas economies of the region.
Wade
Hamilton, NGC vice president of technical services, said that
one of the company’s responsibilities was to make sure
that the population was well educated about the valuable natural
gas resource and its contribution to the development of the
country.
“These
maps are not only about our position as a good corporate citizen,”
he said, “but of making certain that every child growing
up in the Caribbean has an understanding about energy and energy
resources that are available within the region and about the
role they play within their lives.”
